This plain old Steel Snap Hook measures 32 mm in length. The steel alloy, thickness and shape is carefully designed for maximum strength but still easy enough to open and springy enough to snap close firmly. Under load, most imitations will either unwind (wrong steel, thickness or shape), have a too-firm an action (so rigid that opening is very difficult), too weak an action (so soft that it won’t snap closed).
