Two-piece tubular cap rivets for permanently joining and reinforcing leather, textiles, webbing and suitable flexible plastics. Commonly used in footwear, belts, straps, wallets and other leather goods. Select the rivet-body diameter and post length to suit the total compressed material thickness. Install with correctly matched setting dies and test on an offcut before production.
Understanding our dimensions.
- Cap diameter controls appearance and helps spread pressure over the material.
- Rivet-body diameter—2 mm — affects the size of the punched hole and the robustness of the fastening.
- Rivet length must be selected according to the total thickness of all the materials being joined.
- Capped versions are preferable where both sides will be visible or one side will touch the wearer.
Unlike a press stud, the finished rivet is a permanent fastening: it does not open and close.
