This humble tortoise shell belt Buckle is moulded in plastic and is manufactured in Durban (South Africa) and holds a 25mm wide strap in place. It is usually attached to a belt or strap with a cap and rivet, or stitched down if prefered

For those of you who love the technical stuff…

Plastic pellets, colour tints and other clever additives are mixed and heated into a smelly hot goop and squished with huge pressure into steel moulds of just the right shape. The mould opens and the buckle body is removed and trimmed. A smooth mild steel pre-formed nickel electroplated prong is crimped around the buckle body inner. Cheap and cheerful!
